Terms of Service

Visuals is free, has no accounts, and keeps your boards on your own device. These terms describe what that means for you and for us.

What Visuals is

Visuals turns a sentence into a printable visual support: a communication board, a visual schedule, a task analysis, or a social story. It runs in your browser. There is no account to create, nothing to pay, and no trial that expires.

By using it you agree to what is written here. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

It is not clinical advice

Every board Visuals makes is a draft for a professional to review before it reaches a child. Visuals is not a medical device, not an assessment, and not a substitute for the judgement of a speech and language therapist, teacher, or clinician who knows the individual child.

You are responsible for checking every word and every picture before you use a board with anyone.

Your boards are yours

What you write and the boards you build belong to you. They are saved in your own browser’s storage. We do not receive them, cannot read them, and hold no copy, so we claim no rights over them and cannot return them to you if you lose them.

Clearing your browser data deletes them. The privacy page sets out exactly what does and does not leave your device.

The pictures, and what you may do with them

Boards are built from Mulberry Symbols by Steve Lee, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. You are free to print boards and use them with the children you work with, including in a paid setting such as a school or a private practice.

If you publish or share a board more widely, that licence follows the symbols: credit Mulberry Symbols and Steve Lee, and release the result under the same licence. You cannot place a board made from these symbols under a more restrictive licence than the symbols themselves carry.

What the AI produces

The wording on a board is written by a third-party AI model. It can be wrong, oddly phrased, or unsuitable for the child you have in mind, and the picture chosen for a word can be the wrong sense of that word. Nothing it produces has been reviewed by a person before it reaches you.

Read the board before you print it. Every cell can be edited and every picture can be swapped.

Using it responsibly

Please do not:

  • type a child’s name, school, or any other identifying detail into the app, since the text you type is sent to an AI provider to be processed;
  • use Visuals to produce material that would harm, frighten, or mislead a child, or that is unlawful;
  • attempt to disrupt the service for other people.

No warranty, and no promise it will stay

Visuals is provided as it is, without any warranty. We do not promise that it will be available, that it will keep working, that it will suit a particular purpose, or that it will be free of faults.

It is free, and it may change or stop at any time without notice. Because your boards live on your device rather than on a server, they are not lost if the site goes away, but you should keep your own copies of anything you rely on.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of Visuals, including any decision made on the basis of a board it produced. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms
