Short version: your boards are on your device, we never receive them, and there is nothing to sign up for.

No account, no personal data

There is no sign-up and no login. The app never asks for a name, an email address, a school, or anything about a child. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.

Your boards stay on your device

Boards are saved in your own browser’s storage. They are not uploaded, not backed up by us, and not readable by us. Clearing your browser data deletes them, and they do not appear on your other devices. Use Export and Import to move one across.

What leaves your device

Exactly two things, and nothing else:

  • The text you type — your request, or an instruction to change a board — goes to Google’s Gemini API to write the wording. It is not stored by us. Please do not type a child’s name.
  • Each cell’s word goes from your browser directly to the Global Symbols service to find a picture. That request does not pass through our server.

Speech is produced by your own browser and never transmitted. We keep no logs of board content, because we never hold it.

Deleting everything

My boards has a control that erases every board on this device. Because nothing is stored elsewhere, that is a complete deletion: there is no copy for us to remove.

Using this in a school

The app is built so that no student information needs to be entered, which keeps it clear of FERPA and COPPA obligations rather than compliant within them. That is a design choice, not a certification.

The one thing to check before classroom use is the terms under which the AI provider processes the text you type.
